In December 2019 I proudly took over the reigns as Chairman of the Pink Tie Club, due to the pandemic the reign ran over to 2021 to try and hold as many events as we could to support our chosen charities.

Made up of 9 companies from different areas of the construction industry, the Pink Tie Club has a simple mission 'to support each other and try to help those who are less fortunate' we have now raised over £400,000 for charity since it began in 2008.

The last two years hasn't been easy with all the uncertainty of Covid, but we managed to hold 3 main events; a crazy golf experience at Puttshack, our annual golf day which we held at Foxhill's golf club and a sporting lunch at Balls Brothers in London.

More than 72 people joined us for our annual golf day, where we held a 9-hole Texas Scramble, lunch, then an 18-hole Stableford competition and BBQ to finish. If you haven't had a chance to see our video, you can watch it again here

This year we've raised over £45,000 for our chosen charities, Prostate Cancer UK, Breast Cancer Now and the Chandran Foundation - both Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer Now fund important world-class research into these two cancers and the Chandran Foundation delivers educational support to disadvantaged young people. I chose Breast Cancer Now as this was very close to my heart, both my wife and sister were diagnosed with breast cancer over recent years and I am relieved to say that both are now on the other side of it. I chose Prostate Cancer UK, as whilst I was doing my research, I was shocked to learn that 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer and with fundamental research hopefully those statistics will decrease over time.

Representatives from Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer Now joined us at The Lucky Cat in Mayfair to receive their cheques at our annual PTC lunch, we were even briefly joined by Gordon Ramsay himself.

A huge thank you to everyone involved over the past two years, from the Pink Tie members, guests, colleagues, everyone who helped make things happen and most importantly our generous sponsors. We were heavily supported by our supply chain this year and couldn't have raised as much as we did without their generosity.

I hand over the role of Chairman to Marco Franchi and look forward to supporting him with fundraising & his role this year.

Gary Evans chairman 2020/1

The Pink Tie Club is formed of 8 companies of different disciplines involved in the construction industry, with a simple mission "to support each other and try to help those who are less fortunate"

Since forming in 2008, the Pink Tie Club members have collaborated to support some amazing causes, to date we've raised over £150.000 for our chosen charities and organisations. 2015 was no exception, the huge successes of our annual Golf Day and our first ever Cycle Challenge round the Isle of Wight once again proved the commitment of our members and their companies in coming together for the benefit of others.

In 2016 through our Pink Tie Club events, we have committed to work with the following organisations:

Mind
The Ellen MacArthur Trust

The Dennis Wise & Frankham Group Charitable Trust

Looking forward to another fantastic year.

Chris & Jon Dyson 2018 joint chairmen

As one of the founding members in 2008 I took my second reign a Chairman in 2019 in which we hosted a number charitable events but the most memorable was the June Golf Day in 2018 where we raised 30k for the Lighthouse Charity www.lighthouseclub.org

The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families. We receive no public funding and rely on the generosity of those within in the industry to help us continue our vital work.

They have been delivering charitable support to the Construction Community since 1956. Founded by a group of gentlemen who had been attending a Ministry of Public Buildings and Works Exhibition on Tyneside, when they found themselves on the seafront at Whitley Bay.

Under the light of St Mary's Lighthouse, they vowed to extend the goodwill they enjoyed at the show by starting something to unite and benefit the entire industry. From that day forward, the Lighthouse Club was formed to offer aid and assistance to ill or injured construction workers.

Since 2008 im proud to of been part of a team of what I now call my friends and colleagues to reach a grand total of 400k raised for a number of different and diverse charities and looking forward to supporting Marco Franchi through 2022 in his chairman role.

The PTC (Pink Tie Club) has now an established a name throughout the Construction Industry and further a filed in bringing people together at some of the best charity and networking events to help support all of our charities.

I would like to wish Marco all the best for his role as Chairman throughout 2022 and leading the PTC to yet another memorable year!
