Pink Tie Club

Life is far from easy in the construction industry at present. When life is good and the economy is buoyant, life is great. When recession hits, life in our industry becomes particularly challenging. We could each be forgiven for believing that we are on our own as we work tirelessly to steer our businesses back to more prosperous times. It is more important than ever, particularly in a challenging economic environment, that we maintain contact with our friends throughout the industry.

It was following one particularly intoxicating Thursday night in Little Italy spent in the company of various personalities from all walks of the construction industry that the idea for the Pink Tie Club first came about. Having spent the evening comparing notes on what had gone wrong with the economy and how we were all going to cope the evening ended feeling far more positive having shared our woes. Born in the midst of recession the objective of the PTC is simple. To support each other through challenging times and try and help those that are less fortunate.

Over the years we will have spent many an afternoon in a top restaurant drinking fine wine and eating food fit for a king, or a day at a top sporting event or even a day on the golf course! These are just a few of the ways that we get to enjoy mixing business with pleasure and getting to know each other better. Whilst our respective businesses have invested considerable amounts on building and maintaining relationships in such environments we should remember those that are unable to share such pleasures and the PTC believes it can play a part in this. If we can mix business with pleasure and raise a few quid along the way then surely that must be a good thing.
